Boat Show and $100,000 Striped Bass Contest in Haverstraw, April 16,17,18

dApril 16th, 17th, and 18th will see plenty of excitement at the Haverstraw Marina. For the first time ever, a combination Boat Show and Striped Bass Fishing contest will be held in one
location. And what a location it is with its tremendous dock space, huge parking lot, and gorgeous new restaurant with its huge deck, this will surely be something to see and cherish for years to come.

The Hudson Valley Marine Trades Association and the Hudson River Fisherman Association, (real fishing people with a real fishing agenda) will have in both new and used boats in the
water and on land, vendor tents in the parking lot displaying boating related products and services, and educational and environmental exhibits for children and adults alike. Chaparral,
Sea Ray, Mainship, Stingray, Sunsation Power Boats and pontoon boats from many of the area dealers.

With Surfside Three, a large Sea Ray dealer on site, Samalot Marine, a fully stocked ship store devoted to sail and power and sailboat repair also on site, plus the all new Hudson Water
Club with its docks slips adjacent to a huge deck and all glass restaurant area this will be an enjoyable visit for young, old an children alike.

The all new Hudson Water Club will be the focus of a captains meeting on Friday night at 8 PM, which will have a number of guest speakers familiar with the striped bass fishing on the
Hudson River. Held right next to the Hudson River on the Hudson Water Clubs huge deck, (weather permitting) or inside the glassed in area, this will be an enjoyable event. Many of the
fishermen will go directly out to their boats and be prepared for the 12:01 AM of the $100,000 contest on April 17th. If past experience is any help by 7 am the time the weighing station opens on the deck of the Hudson Water Club there will be fisherman waiting to have their catch weighed, measured, tagged and released. There are dock slips right off the deck of the Hudson Water Club for this purpose. This will be an interesting spectacle for diners as they watch through the glassfronted windows. There will be a large pool holding many of the tagged striped bass that are to be released for children and adults to see.
Admission to both the fishing contest and the HVMTA boat show is FREE. Visitors to the in water boats will be loaned life jacket for each child, courtesy of Sea Tow.
