YORK CITY POWERBOAT POKER RUN

The very best place
to view this is at the Ossining Boat and Canoe Club. Bring a lawn chair
and a cooler of bervages, sit on the lawn and watch the parade of boats
that slowing idles by…it is fantastic and you will never see anything
like it anywhere. Usually the first boat arrives around 11:30 AM but

THE NEW YORK CITY POWERBOAT POKER RUN 2002 is pulling in contestants
and sponsors from all over the nation. The "Kings and Queens "
of the sport will gather at Liberty Landing Marina on Friday, June 14th
for a "kick off" party and participate in the run scheduled
for noon time, Saturday, June 15th. The 75 mile run will travel from
the Statue of Liberty to the Ossining Boat and Canoe Club, then to Haverstraw
Marina, then to Chelsea Piers in New York City, and return to Liberty
Landing Marina for the Awards Party.
John Woolley has
entered the ex-Popeye's 50' Aluminum Cat with new power...Twin GE-T58
Turbine engines coupled to #6 Mercury Speedmasters, titled "Lightning
Jacks".
Rolf Papke of Pro-Roc
Marine will be representing TEAM SPECTRE with a 36' Spectre Cat named,
"TSUNAMI", powered with twin blower engines.
The DONZI FACTORY TEAM will be the Paceboat for the Speedboat Club with
their brand new F-2 Raceboat! Bob Christie has entered the 105 MPH version.
OUTERLIMITS is returning
with 12 boats to defend its Crown..."King of the V-Bottoms"...showcasing
its new sit-down 42', clocking 140+MPH!
Mike Fusco is returning
with his Turbine powered 40' Skater, built by Howard Arneson, which
won "KING OF THE HUDSON" in 2000...running 180 MPH+!
Tom Abrams' TOM
CAT, a 46' Skater Cat with a pair of 1300 HP Sterling Engines, will
be returning to defend his "KING OF THE HUDSON CROWN", earned
in 2001.
Michael Aronow,
will be there to autograph/sell his book all about his father,
DON ARONOW.
POWERBOAT MAGAZINE'S
Vicki Newton, Courtney Smith, and Dick Debartolo will be at the event
to chat with enthusiasts along with Peter Tassler of POKER RUNS AMERICA
MAGAZINE...all enjoying the festivities...New York City Style.
