installed, she had her port-holes removed, her wiring and

plumbing had be replaced, and she even had her pilot house

refurbished.

In 2008, on her 100th anniversary, the Mohican was

unanimously elected to the nation register of historic places.

Now entering her 104th year of continuous service, the

Mohican is the 3rd or 4th oldest passenger carrying vessel in

North America. But what truly sets her apart from the others

is not only is she longer and larger than those other ships, but

none of the other old ships have provided continuous service

for every year they have been around. To put it another way

while some were sitting around dock for 20 years, or longer,

waiting to be repaired and put back into service, the Mohican

has been carrying passengers, faithfully, every season

she has been in service. You can find that track record her in

North America, and I would be surprised if youd be able to find

something like that anywhere else in the world. The Mohican

is a very special and beautiful boat, and we hope that she can

be around for another 107 years.
