A
s I have gotten older, and continue to roam the “river”
which I love to do, I realize, more and more the tremendous
number of individuals who donate their time, money and
energy to supporting the things they love dearly.
In many of these folks lays a latent desire to have others
enjoy what they have been enjoying in and around the
Hudson River all their lives.
Among the folks that “get it” are the ones that try to
influence children. None work harder at that than Pat
Harbolic, and Tom Colandro, who, with a number of other
volunteers, created the Haverstraw Bay Classic, a striped
bass derby with emphasis on teaching children about the
tremendous population of healthy, vibrant, fish their are in the
Hudson River!
April 27, 28, 29, and 2018 all this came together with over
$12,000 in prizes, 230 entries, over 30 volunteers and the
complete cooperation of the Cortlandt Yacht Club who
donated their beautiful clubhouse to the event.
