(Western Shore in Haverstraw, NY)
845-429-4354,
www.unionrestaurant.netLocated at 22-24 New Main St. Haverstraw, NY 10927. This is a beautiful restored
Latino style restaurant owned by Paulo Feteira, the maitre d’dhotel and David
Martinez, head chef. Having come from Peter Kelly’s Xavier’s Restaurant and
Freelance Café of Piermont, the two have a combined twenty years in the restau-
rant business. The fine American style cui- sine has a Latino flare in a unique cu-
linary atmosphere. The entrees are light, leaving room for a wide verity of la Carte
options from appetizers to desserts. Your visit will be something to remember first
by the atmosphere, (if you’ve ever seen a movie with a Cuban style restaurant in it
here it is) secondly by the food such as Tilapia al Sarten, a panko encrusted fillet
served with spinach and white beans ragout or the Vaca frita Braised skirt steak.
Whether going out for an afternoons boating plea- sure or coming from the river
